First Ozurdex implant!

Had my first Ozurdex implant yesterday! The procedure was absolutely fine don't know what I was worried about! Didn't feel anything apart from abit of pressure here and there :)

Once I'd got home and the anesthetic had worn off it was quite sore, my eye swelled up alot and was very blurry. Took some pain killers and tried to get some sleep (didn't manage much)

Waking up this morning my eye was very matted but after cleaning gently the swelling has definitely gone down and my eye sight is alot less blurry which is brill! Have to say I'm glad of the big improvement overnight I was alittle worried as I didn't expect it to be so sore and swollen the day I got it done (silly I know but a doctor told me I'd be able to work the next day which I wouldn't really agree with)

Going to take some getting used to the implant bobbing in and out of my vision haha but I'm sure I won't even notice in a few days! Feeling positive and looking forward to being less uncomfortable each day and seeing if my vision improves :)

Great news. I've found the implants better to deal with than many of the inj I had before. Using dry eye drops 4 times a day helped me with any uncomfortableness. The bobbing about thing disappears pretty quick. Wishing you all the best going forwards.

Well done!! I find that after an injection a Carmellose Sodium solution in the form of eye drops is a very effective way of relieving the irritation from where the needle went in. Your Eye clinic will probably give you some in the form of one-shot files or you local chemist is usually a reliable source.

Thank you everyone :) I've been using eye drops for dry eyes which has helped ease the grittyness etc swelling has gone down again looking nearly back to normal! Amazing how quickly eyes heal up
