Had it yesterday. Was v nervous but all ok it didn't hurt a bit. Done by the Dr I don't like but she was excellent. I may revise my opinion lol.
A bit daunting after the usual drops to have an anaesthetic inj without an eye clamp but I managed it. Then they draped my face and used a clamp like an eyelash curler before inj the implant. Took longer to go in than drug inj but they talked me through it so it was fine.
Hit a blood vessel so eye swollen and sore today. Dressing bloodsoaked this morning and lashes stuck together v uncomfortable so wiped gently with colloidal silver solution. Vision still blurry but early days yet.
Product guide they gave me says should have 3 days antibiotic drops before and after -so that must be old as only had the drops straight after.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am probably heading for the same and although I have had 70 pain free anti-VEGF shots something new is always daunting.
I hooe the Ozurdex works well for you.

Thanks x I was concerned they stopped the inj after only 23 but hopefully this will work. Best of luck to you. If you have this don't worry, it was actually the least uncomfortable experience and the aftermath has been fine apart from the bleed but that's just an accident.

The bleed is unfortunate, I had just one v minor one in all the shots, it cleared within 2 days. I hope yours resolves quickly.

Had a few bleeds, made worse as I'm on aspirin even though I stop it the week before. This one was pretty bad the eye patch soaked through. Hey ho.
The steroid is to hopefully reduce the swelling Beldie. An alternative to the Lucentis/eyelea antivegf which wasn't working for very long. The hope is this will last 6 months.
Well done, eyesright. Hope that the discomfort you now experience is short-lived. Will be interested to hear the result in four weeks time. I truly hope that the implant works better for you than the injections have done. It's time you had a break from all your unfortunate episodes. I wish you the very best and send you a big hug. X
I know how much you were dreading this and I'm so glad it's all behind you now. Thanks also for a description of what happened because anyone who is offered this procedure in the future now has an idea of what to expect. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a successful result x
Thanks kalahuchi x it's weird that this procedure was actually better than any of the previous inj despite being more intense.
I was worried about having the thing in my eye (psychological , knew I wouldn't feel it there) but it's been fine although annoying as I see it bobbing about at top of vision (looks like a thick black rod although I know it's tiny really).
I expect it will be a bit like a funny floater after a while. I don't know if you have any of them but I have loads and I don't really notice them so much these days.
