I am new here but have suffered from wet AMD since January 2021 and have had several injections of Eylea in both eyes since. I am currently stable and on an 8 week re-check each time.

I also suffer from diplopia (double vision) and this eye problem conflicts with the AMD disease making it difficult for the brain to bring both images together. Am using a prism but this is a high strength so will obtain prescription glasses with them built in.

I have the same problem very high prism double vision but not close up so strong prism distance but off shelf close up normal readers. Forever changing glasses

I had one pair made but ended up going back to vision express and having them made with stronger prisms. Unfortunately my problem is horizontal and vertical so will never get the images spot on.

I have 9 in each lens I have them thinned out as much as possible I’ve got a weak muscle in dry eye caused by damaged optic nerve it’s caused muscle to weaken. So expensive too aren’t they.

On top of my usual lens extra's it was another £100 for prisms.

I really wish you well, what diopter prism do you have? The fresnal prisms are great and then to have them incorporated is a real bonus I had to wait 9 months before mine were incorporated. I have another fresnal prism on top of that but it has really helped. I have a different macular disease but same treatment .

Will have fresnal prisms built into the lenses totalling 11 in each eye. The turnaround with Vision express is two weeks on the lens makeup. Its an extra £100 to add these lens, also paid for these to be made thinner but as they appear thick at the corners, not sure if it makes a difference.

ah they will be ground in I expect. Which is a good way of having prisms incorporated. Did you get offered a voucher to go towards them? I was offered one at vision express but it maybe for other reasons.

They are looking into this to see if I qualify for a voucher. But I had to ask as it was not offered to me.

I've been having regular jabs since 2014, but admit to knowing nothing about adding prisms to prescriptions. The prices people pay in our high street shops never ceases to amaze me. I buy all my prescription glasses overseas - and have just checked to see that they will add prisms for a lot less than the sums mentioned in other replies. I suspect I'm not allowed to mention the name here, but suggest searching google for some 'goggles 4 you.' - or direct message me for help

ok so I phoned up and there is a voucher called a Gos3 voucher. My prisms were £12.85 for each lens, but that maybe because of the benefits I am on due to my poor sight and being unable to be in work. But the bloke said there should have been a voucher added for prisms. I have 16 diopter in all 8 split and grounded in mine were fine in 2021. I have another 8 diopter prism on top of that now. Hope that helps.

I have Macular Degeneration and receive injections about every 6-7 weeks. I don't know anything about the significance of the stated numbers herein (6/12 etc.,) nor about vouchers. I have never discussed the issue with my optholmalegist, Is the treatment vouchers related to macular degeneration?

I had very bad diplopia in the late 1990s caused by Thyroid eye disease and a consequent squint (had those prisms for ages and eventually wore an eye patch). and but eventually had surgery which worked well. Only double vision when tired. Hope you get it sorted!

Sorry to hear that. I am tempted in wearing an eye patch as glasses with an inbuilt prism is not working for me.
