photodynamic therapy

I have had a series of 7 avastin then 2 eylea injections. My Dr. is suggesting using PDR therapy so that I can extend beyond 4 weeks since leakage is still showing up in one eye. Is this too soon to give up and add another therapy. I would love to go to 6 or 8 weeks but as with all these therapies they are not without risks. The Verteporfin photodynamic therapy would be used with the eylea...same day. I only need the pdr in one eye. ...Any thoughts, experiences?

Hi 2see, afraid I can't offer an opinion as don't know enough about your condition or the pdt. Suggest you contact the macular society - their website and helpline are excellent. Hope you get the answer you seek, best wishes going forward.

Hi 2see, I’ve had eylea and lucentis injections for about 3 years. Another doctor suggested PDT but after hearing all the side effects, I decided not to do it. You cannot allow your skin to be exposed to sunlight for days or you will have serious burns. Many doctors don’t recommend that procedure any longer. Good luck.
