Ache in Eye

I had a sort of dull ache in the eye that has WMD (had 3 injections, last one about 5 months ago and due to see the consultant in one month's time) and it caused me some concern. Pressure felt very high and when I touched the eye it seemed to hurt more. Anyone else suffering from this? I was about to ring the clinic (hoping someone would answer the 'phone) but the pain went after two days.

Yes the pressure can go up immediately post injection but normally settles within a few hours. It sounds like your eye was a bit 'bruised'. The fact it resolved I'd fine. I hope you have been back to clinic since 4-8 weekly to monitor and not 5 months!

As I said, I am due to return on the 30th April and this will be 9.5 weeks since my last check-up. They wanted to make it 3 months but I managed to get them to make it a bit sooner as I know I should be checked at least every 8 weeks. However, we have a problem with some consultants leaving so I don't think they can do very much more. The ache returned yesterday and was quite intrusive, i.e. I was very aware of it right up until I went to bed, but it has gone again this morning.

Hi Angie,

Since it seems to be a recurring problem, I suggest that you get your local optometrist at your opticians to check you; just in case there is something which needs hospital attention.
