Eye test

Went for my check up today. This is the 3rd time this year. My wet is no longer bleeding and I have restored some vision in it :) My good eye has no sign of MD but I am concerned as sometimes I am seeing some shimmering when I look at the sky or a blank wall. My opthalmologist did a comprehensive eye test and even went to 3 different ones and they found nothing wrong. Has anyone had something as I am explaining? I was worried it was MD in my good eye.

Do you mean anything like this:

healthunlocked.com/maculars...

Of course, the effect might in all probability be coming from your affected eye, but you will want to be more certain.

The thing is I never had injections and there is no sign of macular in the eye that I am seeing this light.

Sometimes I think its my anxiety

How do you know which eye you are seeing the light in? It might easily be something generated by the nerves and brain when stimulated by bright light, mightn't it? Unless you've tried keeping each eye covered long before you see the effect ...

I get this sometimes and simply put it down to the brain simply trying to make sense of the data coming from the eye; I don't think it's anything to worry about

Yes, I have had the ‘clitter in the air’ thing. Will need to ask my ophthalmologist at next visit.

Dear Rosalyn can this happening in my good eye though as I am almost certain that this in my mind as it happened one day when I was thinking about it. Cant shake the thought out of my head it seems that after 12 years I am now in denial and before I used to not think about it...

Dear Ngatt,

No, Charles Bonnet Syndrome would not apply if there was no visual impairment present.

It is important to react rapidly to any noticeable changes in your vision and get them checked out as quickly as possible at the opticians.

It may be also be worth discussing this with your GP.

Kind regards.

I did I went 4 times... I am thinking that it might be related to having my left eye seeing distortions since as from these last couple of months I am no longer seeing a black spot in my central vision but its now distorted since it seems that it stopped bleeding. I still have a macular scar since I was diagnosed fast enough 13 years ago. This is affecting me negatively since I am now seeing distorted when having both eyes open, I think my brain is still adjusting to the new vision
