Laser surgury
Hi there I have had lots of injections (50) of avastin and Lucentis over 4 years for a condition very similar to AMD . I have DMO. I have had laser too and due for some in my left eye in July. It can slow down the progression but it really is on a case by case decision to have it because what they laser they are actually destroying so some sight may be lost in the outside vision to save the central vision. It might be worth an ask at your next appointment.
We would recommend that you discuss this with your Consultant. A few people may be offered laser treatment. The treatment is only suitable for people with particular patterns of damage to the retina. Should you wish to discuss this in further detail please can you contact the Macular Society Helpline on 0300 3030 111.
Thank you.
