Yes it's come up in a recent thread. About to start phase III trials, but I wouldn't hold your breath, Benlysta isn't licensed for general use here yet - so we'll probably get lupuzor in about 10 years....if it turns out to be any good.
Personally I am in no hurry - I'd rather they were properly tested before they get to us (think of thalidomide).
I have high hopes for this one. And achieving gold standard from the FDA might not be full approval but shows confidence in the results. Plus, the drug has already been in research for 10 years, about time to bring it on the market this year on a usual drug timeline I think. Assuming they get their investment, I reckon next year this could be approved.
As for Benlysta, as I understand it, phase III trial results didn't meet all the set markers, so the trials continue. Plus the results against placebo in the phase II trials of Benlysta were not that substantial, unlike Lupuzor.
Having said that, we can only assume based on what little we can find online, we don't have full picture. But there are other drugs in the pipeline for lupus at this point. Have a look here lupusresearchinstitute.org/....
So I'm hopeful.
