YET ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS

I was told today that I had thyroid eye disease! just another thing to add to my list lol.

Does anyone else have this and if so what can I expect etc.

Sorry to hear this Mandie R. I don't have any answers for you, I'm afraid. But wondered how it effects you. Was it diagnosed by symptoms you are getting, or by an eye test?

Hi Roobarb,

thanx for the answer. I have been under the eye hospital for the last 5 years since loosing my sight following 3 minor strokes. Luckily for me my sight returned (phew)

I was at the motility clinic on tuesday and after all the tests I saw the specialist and thats when I was told.

The symptoms are: inability to look up, down or side ways without moving my head, rather than my eyes as it is incredibly painful and gives me double vision if I do do it with my eyes.

Apparently I have limited muscle movement more in my left eye than my right and instead of the muscles working together to focus they now work against each other,

I just got your answer. Thanks for filling me in, & sorry again to hear about this. It must be terribly limiting for you. Is there any treatment they can offer?
