It is getting hotter and hotter each year where I live (australia) which makes my lupus sky rocket alot of times...but too cold can also aggrevated my arthritis...
have you ever considered moving and where would a good place / climate if you have lupus?
Surely medical facilities and support would be taken in consideration...
I wonder...any suggestions?
thanks

I have Lupus, I am 65 years old and have visited my daughter in Sydney and yes the summer is a bit hot but did not make my lupus flair. The best place I would want to live is the South of France where my grandparents came from. The climate is never 'to hot' or 'to cold' yes they do get hot and cold days but I personally would live there if I could.
The South coast of England is not to bad around Dorset where the climate is better than where I live in Sheffield. I am sure though there must be pkaces in Aus. where the temperature is not extream. Or N.Zealand? Good luck what ever you decide.xx
Hi, my sister lives in sydney...i think its better for sure...but I am dreaming of south of France already thanks for sharing...i really need a change for sure...
Hi, I am trying to think where would be the best part where it is not quite so expensive. Just inland about 20miles near Grasse (Where they make all the perfume and grow all the plants for it is beautiful) there are so many that come to mind. I like it from St Raphael and all along that stretch right through to the Italian border. Don't know it well the other way ie. from St Raphael, down to Marsailes, but friends of mine have a place down there and they love it. Any further round and down towards the Spanish border and you are talking HOT in the summer, but again warm in winter. I would look it all up on Google Earth then google each place you think might be an area you could like.
A bit further North in France is Montellemar and Lyone but not sure what their winters are like. Don't forget you have the Alps mountain range all down the east of France, so if the villiages are close they would get a lot of snow.
I know it is expensive, but you should probably spend a couple of weeks there looking before you decide. It would be wise to learn a bit of French before going as if you speak a little French to people, they will know you are trying and speak back to you in English, same with most countries.
I just sent a huge blog and it just vanished ,i havent the energy to write it again, basically we relocated back to northern europe from perth australia .
oh that drives me nuts when it happens to me grrr...many thanks brave, im in perth myself so northern europe sounds much more ideial...I hope all is going well your way...x
Hi found the intense perth summer way to hard on my system ,i became completly paranoid about the heat ,it exacerbated my symptoms tenfold, sad because we fell in love with the place.Ive been in a 12 month flare now so i cant say if moving to the channel islands has been of any benefit?infact the snow cold also doesnt agree with me ,however its easy to wrap up and get out and about ,rather than live with aircon and searching for the nearest pool .pros and cons to both i guess?I find the sun and heat brings on the fluey feeling and lympgh glands etc as well as all the other horrid symptoms. You will get the same care in this part of the world ,i find the consultants here are less explanatory than perth, they tell you the minimum ,you can be part of the state healthy system which is fine or pay private if you choose?I cant say if i have benefit from relocating this way as i think all the stress and upheavel has had a negative affect on my health hence the very long flare ,its a lonely disease i find and one others dont seem to understand well ,i hope your managing in the sun out there?take care keep well and good luck with any future plans ,brave
They say southern Spain is a good place to live as temperatures are good in Winter. Around Alicante is good because of the salt lakes. I found when I visited there my aching & hurting seemed much better. Not sure how I would be in mid summer there though as it does get extremely hot. Don't think I could tolerate Austrailia as my Auntie lives there & she says it gets way too hot. I'm finding the UK far too cold & damp & makes me feel awful all the time.
