Feeling pretty down today, Sorry

Used to play Crown Green Bowls many moons ago, Met a lovely elderly couple there and I and my then husband became firm friends,I divorced, But remained there friends About 7yrs ago his wife died, and Joe 82 was left alone, I used to pop in twice a week see how he was doing and help, until I became ill but I still visited if only to listen to some of his wonderful stories of the war years, rationing et and his favourite sports, Last Friday he fell and broke his hip, they operated on Saturday and unfortunately he suffered a massive stroke while under the anaesthetic and was in a coma, I was informed today that his body functions are shutting down and his brain scan showed no activity, They are moving him into a private room to allow his body to shut down slowly and in peace. It was such sad news as I was hoping he would pull through, He's in no pain they say,but he will never awaken now, God Bless You Joe, sleep soundly mate xx

It's made me rather weepy and weak now,

So sorry to hear your sad news. I am sure he cherished your friendship as much as you did his. Try and think of all the happy times and stay strong - I am sure he would hate to think of you being so sad. It will get easier although it doesnt feel like that right now. Sending you a *hug* x
