Amazing occupational therapists...

I have just had a visit from a wonderful occupational therapist. She made us feel human!

At last, some positive input. It has exhausted me but was well worth it. I recommend it to anyone who is having mobility problems. We are getting an inflatable bath aid and lots of referrals to care for my partner and my girls.

Also, she is referring us to an agency that helps fill out the dreaded dla form!!

We feel much more positive now.

Wanted to share this because I didn't know we could access this until a kind lupie told me about it.

Happy Christmas to everyone.

So happy that you are getting some aides that will make things easier and help with the DLA form too. xx

Can I ask, how do you access an Occupational Therapist

I found an online form through our council website. I completed the form and within 48 hours I received a phone call with an appointment.

Best thing I've accessed since being diagnosed!

Good luck.

Hi, I went through my GP for a referral. I was quite sceptical about what they would be able to do for me as I don't need the aids all the time. I only need them really during a flare or if I get a severe chest/upper respiratory tract infection, but they were fantastic. Thy have given me a wheelchair, toilet frames, a bath seat, a perching stool, a pillow raiser and installed another hand rail on the stairs. They have also referred me to the occupational therapists at social services to discuss further about installing a stair lift. It's definitely worth talking to them, you may be surprised at what is out there to help.

Good luck and have a lovely Christmas
