Atos meeting what to expect?

I was lucky and went to the atos appointment with my support worker, maybe taking a friend or family member along would be a good idea. They will assess you on your mobility and general medical health. this will usually be done by a qualified doctor or nurse. Its pretty straight forward. I know is easier said than done but try not to worry too much about this. take care and good luck!!!
My son has been for 2 ATOS "meetings" whereby no medical was carried out and the interview was carried out by a nurse. On the first meeting we had no clue what was about to happen and went in completley unprepared. As far as I could tell she asked around 15 questions mostly to do with mobility, my son suffers from anxiety and depression. Needless to say he was kicked off his ESA and had to appeal their decision and he went to a tribunal. He won the tribunal and was placed in the work group. That was mid May at the beginning of August he received another form to complete and had to go for a second "meeting" at the beginning of September. We were more prepared for this one and took along a letter from his consultant psychiatrist stating that he was unfit to return to work (at the moment). He passed this medical and has retained his ESA benefit. I would definately not go on your own and I would go online and read as much as you can about the process and take along any supporting documents or letters you can get your hands on. We found that the process made his condition worse not to mention the affect it had on me as he was not capable of doing any of the running about necessary. Good luck.
