What sort of headaches are they!
Hi,
I'm really sorry that your doctors and medication you're taking are not helping you to successfully manage your symptoms. I think with lupus we have to be aware that the disease very often affects our mood and this can affect our decision-making. It's hard to face another doctor's visit and put up with the side effects of medication when you're already feeling terrible. But it's just a fact that we need the medication and the doctors to fight the disease. Maybe someone on this forum can help you connect with a support group that can help you get over this patch—I can't tell you who to call specifically because I live in the U.S. Please reach out to someone who can give you emotional support. That's what I do when things look bleak. Good luck
If it any consolation you are not alone, pain and it's management can lead to depression without a doubt, as for headaches I get plenty of them as well, asked to be referred to a pain clinic and see if they can do anything
Hi Scotty, first of all so sorry to hear you are so down in the dumps Like yourself I get very low at times and I hate the Meds as most of us do. I tend to have a massive melt down around once a year and cry myself silly then I seem to pick myself up and wait for the next time !!! I have recently been given gabapentin but they did absolutely nothing for the pain so my Doctor gave me Pregabalin. They have given me some woozy side affects and a horribly dry mouth but oh my! I have found my sleep is better, ( I am actually getting some) and the pain is seventy per cent better. I am also going to the Pain Clinic on Thursday to see what they have to say.
Please don't give up on the medicines that are there for us, we are all different and respond accordingly to the cocktails we take. Go to your Docs and ask for an appointment to the Pain Clinic , it may just be what you need. I will post on Thursday evening to let you know how it went for me.
Stay strong but have a weep whenever you need it, that is great medicine too, you are allowed to feel sad for yourself sometimes you know
