I am feeling so down, unhappy and scared. Really struggling at the moment and don't know what to do.

I have 2 gorgeous girls, 6 and 3, and am currently pregnant with our third baby. I have lupus, chronic asthma, steroid induced osteoperosis, focal nodular hyperplasia, reflux etc etc. We recently went on holiday to Canada to stay with my Dad and Step Mum, had an absolutely amazing time and, obviously, didn't want to come home! Added to the post holiday blues, my mum has very recently moved over 3 hours away from us and I am feeling just so exhausted and ill all the time, I don't know what to do anymore. I am writing this in floods of tears, feeling totally pathetic and selfish for feeling like this but I just feel so horrible. I am so sorry to go on and on when I know there are some of you who are really poorly but I just needed to get things off my chest I think.

Thank you for reading my rant.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy and I am glad you had a great holiday. I would love to go to Canada one day. Hope your travel insurance wasn't too bad. You certainly have plenty to cope with so give yourself credit for that; health problems, young family, pregnancy and your mum not as close by anymore. Did you feel as bad before you went on holiday or is it just post holiday blues. Do you have regular blood tests and make sure you are not anemic. I hope they are keeping a close eye on your pregnancy also. Speak to people how you feel, I am sure they will want to support and help you and buy a computer camera or Skype so you can have good contact with your Mum. Walking and exercise is shown to improve mood so just get outside for a bit each day even if just walking children to and from school. And if all you want is to get things off your chest that is what we are hear for:)

Trust me we all have down days, weeks, but we have to get through them, the more you get down the worse your symptoms will be from all your illnesses, I feel exactly the same at time suicidal even, but like you I have to young girls and a partner and that stops me doing stupid things. Remember if your feeling low think about the good times you've had and will have again, you have a bundle of something to come in a few months and that will take all these bad times away.

Hi its ok to be down also its a daunting prospect to try to find the energy for another child if you don't feel well. hormones do funny things to you can get pre natal depression so if your mood doesn't lift in a couple of week

s do see your gp just to get some support through your pregnancy. Life changes. This illness sucks. Be kind to yourself. But do see someone if this.gsstritis don't improve good luck.

Hi Chantelle

Sorry to hear you are feeling so down and obviously you are missing your mum being near too. It is bad enough living with lupus/asthma etc but you have lots going on with two little ones and being pregnant. Congratulations! Have you got any understanding friends that can collect the girls from nursery/school to give you time to rest. Long haul flights, time differences etc you have been through a lot. Don't over do things as you are pregnant. Can you arrange to go and stay with your mum when the term ends. It helps to have something nice to look forward to. If you still feel bad in a few days make an appointment to go and see your G.P. Hope you feel better soon. x

Hi Chantelle :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know my mum had to struggle for years and years to concieve as she has Lupus.

Don't beat yourself up! You're obviously going through alot at the moment so things are going to be hard. If my mum moved away i'd be pretty stressed without the added pressure of being pregnant with two young children too.

Keep your chin up honey and I hope you feel better soon <3

Thank you so much to those of you who replied to my feeling sorry for myself rant. This site is fab and you guys are amazing!

Turns out I am very anemic so they're going to start blood transfusions until my levels improve. Had another scan of baby on Wednesday and that helped loads as gave me something positive to focus on instead of feeling sorry for myself all the time.

Lots of good thoughts and well wishes to you all and thank you again,
