Colds...

Having lupus is anyone finding they get more than their fair share of colds, flu bugs and coughs? Over the last 2 months I've had a chest infection lasting 3 weeks, plus a flu bug at same time, I've now been hit by another flu bug...I have a 4 ur old who goes to school so wondering what the future will hold...do we catch more bugs that the 'normal' person???? X

Even though our immune system is overactive it's a hit and miss thing going on with us. Our immune system is trying to protect us like it's supposed to, but can't tell the difference between us and a germ/bug. That's why we seem to have more infections than those without lupus. I hope you feel better soon.

I seem to catch every bug that goes around. I just had a bad episode last week where I started with a sniffle and stomach nausea and ended up in bed for 4 days. I think it threw me into a "lupus flare". None of my meds helped me that usually keep my symptoms mild. In fact, the neuropathy pains etc were much amplififed.

thankyou ladies....i guess its something we have to just learn to deal with which is a little frustrating!
