what s making me feel so ill
I have similar problems with the voice it is when I am unwell and I get breathless bloods can often say SLE is fine but no one seems to give an answer. I also have fibromyalgia and SS. often I have an infection somewhere and I will clear up but this time it is not happening. Go back and get a check for UTI. They are often a problem with no symptoms. Good luck and rest where possible.
I have connective tissue disorder and sle etc and i think with the ctd you do get some weird things happening do you have sjorgens because that drys your eyes/ noses therefore throat and another place if you are a lady, the reason i ask is i get loads of sore or welts on my throat and i use numbing sprays for a few nights and it gets better then go round again and its because of dry mouth(some meds dont help). The reason is itdosnt stop there if you do have sjorgens it can dry you out all the way to your stomach so your voice loss could be that your vocal chords dont have enough lubucation to work, I use toothpaste which helps and when i was in OZ i found a mouth spray which has medication in it to make your mouth water (havent found it here thou). Hope that might help....
good luck
I suffered laryngitis for many years and flu, all of which has stopped since the diagnosis and treatment of SLE. I also have Sjogrens that dries my mouth, eyes, nose and throat.
My throat is very prone to infection, it gets red and inflamed easily... and if I chat a lot my voice goes hoarse....sounds silly but its true. I dont enjoy long conversations because of it and people dont understand. No cure but there are things to help
I have toothpaste, mouthwash, little gums to suck and sprays all on prescription. I rely on certain foods to help with dryness....sugar free mints like Polos and chewing gum help as well.... Best check it out with your doctor. Do you see a rheumatologist?
