I have had to stop taking hydroxychloroquine as it is not compatible with a targeted cancer therapy I will start shortly. Ideally, before I start the cancer therapy, I need to have some dental work (a root canal) and my dentist is concerned about how my immune system will react to any inflation or possible infection as a result of the dental work now I am not taking hydroxychloriquine.
Does anyone know bout this?

Teeth well when I wasn't on treatment yet for uctd and rheumatoid arthritis my teeth suffered badly.

Hi Thanks for replying. I have been told by the oncologist and the rheumatoligist that the Hydroxychloroquine I take for Lupus cannot be taken with Ribociclib the cancer drug I am due to start taking - it would be very dangerous. The dental stuff - I am worried about having a very low immune system and trying to keep teeth and gums healthy - dentist doesn't seem too sure about things...... I hope you get your teeth sorted out. The whole thing is a worry to be honest

Teeth situation lost one after last chemotherapy my 1st cancer mines ovarian cancer.
Now metastatic adenocarcinoma took my spleen this time I upped dental care,I use toothbrush sensitive colgate
Water flosser.
Then mouth wash plus interdental sticks
You're going though a lot - Im so sorry, it must be tough going If it's any help re the teeth the dental hygienist prescribed Colgate Duraphat Flouride 5000ppm Toothpaste - I'm on zolandronic acid infusions so anything to help preserve the teeth.
