Smart watch

Hello,

Has anyone else experienced a lupus rash from their smart watch? It has come up just like the rash I get in the sun and wondered if its due to the light that is on the back, I've worn it for years and never had an issue.

I have an appointment soon so will ask there just wondered if anyone had experienced a similar thing :)

It happened to my husband who doesn’t have lupus. He got a new strap and he hasn’t had a problem since .

I did but I think it was the strap. Had worn it for a few years and then suddenly got a rash, took it off and left it off until the rash had gone but it returned as soon as I put in back on. Bought an apple watch with a different type of band and no problem. I think there might be silicone in the standard straps but you need to check that. I find that I am less tolerant of things as this disease has progressed. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks both, it's not anywhere near the strap ots directly where the light is I've taken it off and taken pictures if it's gone by next week I'll show them and see what they say at my review :)

Thank youuu!! Xx

I’ve never had a problem with the strap, I’ve got the silicon one but I did wonder if it would sweat my wrist but was pleasantly surprised it didn’t. Maybe it is the light then.

I have! From the light, not the strap! Same as you - I've worn it for a while and not had a problem then suddenly it came up and felt very much like the typical rash I get but in a very specific place. It went away after a couple of weeks of not wearing it.I'd be interested to see what your specialist says.

I don't have lupus (hubby does) but I get the rash under my fitbit strap in hot weather. I have to wrap some microporous tape around the strap. That works.

I get like a sunburn patch sometimes from the light on the back. I have to swap arms until it settles down. It does make me think however is this causing any damage?

This is what mine has done, I've had it off now for 3 weeks and still not the best looking area hehe

I did get some antifungal cream in case was an infection but no avail so I'm pretty convinced the light is to blame I was really raised and lumpy, itchy too. Less of an irritation now the watch is gone :)

Mine is exactly the same. It does feel raised and itchy but like sunburn..
