Hi,

2nd attempt at sending this but as you can see from the image I have something on my foot. And I can't get a straight answer on what it is.

It's either a corn (or seed corn as someone put it) or a. Plantar wart (veruka) but treatment will only work if I use the right meds.

So thought I'd ask you wonderful people for your advise... Dr seems to busy for me to get access at mo.

That's the usual area for a corn. Can your pharmacist help? X

Perhaps we'll get more replies over the weekend. I was about to out burzuka gel on it but the instructions in bold, said not for diabetics, which I am as well. But just confusion on what it is.

I am now hoping to see a podiatrist next week and see what they say

Hi HantsMan,

According to the LUPUS and the feet publication on our website, corns, hard skin and ingrown toenails can commonly present in people with lupus. They commonly present in people with lupus due to some medication's effect on the body, causing a higher resistance to infections such as bacterial, viral and fungal infections.

It is good to read that you have started to seek help from your consultant or GP to ask for a referral to a podiatrist. Our publication on lupus and the feet also highlights the importance of making the specialist aware of all medications, to ensure that they can manage any problems appropriately.

To find out more or how you can help yourself at home, see our LUPUS and the feet publication attached:

Hi, it turned out to be a verruka, which they dug out a bit. Nhs said they don't treat verrukas any more and leaving me to get in with it.

I'm very list with it thou and it's started to hurt more of my foot now

Would it be worth going back to the podiatrist, to follow up on the pain?

Have you seen a chiropodist? I had a Veruka many years ago & my GP said the chiropodist was the one to see.

Hi HantsMan ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ‹

Iโ€™m in the USA. Over here there is a do it yourself application that works for warts skin tags by applying a patch of regular duct tape cut to size. Wear it for a few days and see if it makes any difference. Just keep adding new duct tape as needed until problem is gone. I hope it works for this verruca too. Sorry didnโ€™t know this was a plantar wart.

Iโ€™ve read where this is caused by going barefoot and picking up the virus from break in the skin allowing the wart to grow.

Keeping your feet clean and wearing sandals or water footwear to protect your feet while swimming or in public pools or showers to prevent developing more.

Make sure your tub/shower is clean prior to using to prevent recurring warts.

Best wishes for success.

Oh just thought this; construction of our homes are probably different. I hope you can buy this on Amazon if not available in your location.
