Some new research by the British Society for Rheumatologists (BSR) has found that increasing the numbers of specialist rheumatology staff improves patient outcomes while saving the NHS money, paying for itself within the first year. This study focused on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but it is likely that it would also have an impact for other conditions.

You can read more about it in our article here, which includes a link to help you write to your MP if you would like to support their campaign for more rheumatology funding: lupusuk.org.uk/increasing-t...

Increased productivity works in most places and reduces costs. In this case improved outcomes for patients so they can lead more beneficial life styles.

Hope all is well?

Best wishes Kevin

Had a brilliant hour discussing pain management with my rheumy yesterday - only reason it stopped was he had an MDT meeting with the neuros! The back problem is SOOOO much better (about time too) and after a year of Actemra, I'm down to 6mg pred, only been that low once before in 14 years and that didn't last!

How are you?

You’ve made good progress. The three grandchildren who arrived over the last four years are keeping us busy and entertained 😊

Think so - though the granddaughter has been a typical lazy teen as long as she lived with mum who works more than full time. Last I saw she has got her act together in her flat with her girlfriend who also works fulltime but the novelty hasn't worn off yet ...
