I have issues about tasting food I find every thing bland or sense of smell too I need spicy and savour food I I have had this before but it got worse and I do have lupus fibromyalgia arthritis

Sjogens etc any one else have this issue

Would appreciate any input

I can relate to this, I had chemo about three years ago and my taste came back a little bit but now it’s not so good. I can taste sweet things and either I don’t taste food or it’s salty. I have to get my hubby to taste everything I make or I go too heavy on the spices. Vinegar on chips is awful, I just don’t taste things properly. You don’t realise how debilitating this is till it happens to you. I can’t smell things either. I was reading on the net about buying 4 essential oils and trying to train my brain into smelling again. Prob won’t work but I’m going to give it a try. When I can actually taste something it’s super, as I said it’s usually sweet food. Very very strange.

I have this problem too, like you Sjogren’s +Lupus sufferer - my taste buds are really diminished and sometimes so dulled it’s awful. All I can do is add my favourite herbs and spices to my food. Oddly, I can taste sweet food really well 🙄

Thank u for your reply I just add more chillies 🌶 n garlic 🧄 to have some kind of taste on my food
