lupus rash

this is from being outside 40mins today I have been suffering a few years now my doc mentioned lupus I'm not too sure I am waiting on my dermatologist app next month does anyone else get a rash like this I get it where ever has been exposed to sunlight I also get it often on my face especially over my nose and cheeks any advise would be great thankyou

Hi there, I have lupus (sle) and back in July when we had the very hot 2 days I had a similar rash on my arms and neck. It drove me mad with the itching. Used cetraben cream, aloe Vera gel and anything else I thought may help. I didn’t really go out in the sun except to hang washing out and then I covered up with sun hat. I also use a uv brolly and also have some uv cardigans I use.

With the itching so bad I had to contact out of hours dr on the Sunday who prescribed a 5 day course of steroid tablets which worked.

I was diagnosed with lupus in August 2014, after numerous tests which were negative the last resort was a skin biopsy which showed up lupus. Maybe worth mentioning to your dr or even at dermatologist appointment.

Hello thanks for the reply I'm feeling loads better as the weather has cooled down alot here the rash is still present but has calmed down alot 😀 my docs always say its pmle or solar ultricaria I'm hoping I will get a definite answer from my dermatologist next month when I get an outbreak I feel as if I have the flu that's the only way I can describe it I also get them in my mouth 😔 xxx

Pleased you’re feeling better than you was and the rash has calmed down.

I get a sore mouth too when it’s really hot.
