Butterfly rash

With the butterfly rash on the face, does it go away or fade once you start taking prednisone xx

Hi Sarah, I’ve had 3 courses over the last 3 years and I’m afraid to say my butterfly rash didn’t fade or go away during them but we’re all unique and respond differently to the medications, it was great for other symptoms and helped me through the worst of it so I’ll keep the rash over all that other stuff!

Can I ask you I have very red and a rash on both the back of my hands.

Is this something you had and I’d so did prednisone help at all ?

Hi, no i didn’t have a rash on my hands but they were very swollen, stiff and painful which definitely improved with the steroids. It also improved the rashy neck, chest and back that I had too. It never fails to amaze me the many different and varied ways the disease shows up in us all.xx

The pred helped with swelling but it took 6 months of hydroxy for rash to fade . Are you on hydroxy? I still get the red rash across knuckles that never went away xxx
