“Developed by AstraZeneca, Evusheld is a combination of two long-acting antibodies that works by binding to the spike protein on the outside of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the virus that causes COVID-19. This in turn prevents the virus from attaching to and entering human cells.

Evusheld is authorised to be used before being exposed to the risk of COVID-19 infection in order to prevent disease (known as ‘pre-exposure prophylaxis’).” NHS Website.

Hi Tinskie.I came on here to see if anyone is saying anything about Evusheld but it just doesn’t seem to be being talked about. I’m already a member of the Evusheld 4 UK group on Facebook as well as following them on twitter. We really need to raise awareness of this. As someone on rituximab I’ve been told I won’t get a great response from vaccination.

I know. I’m surprised it has such a low profile on here. I’m sure there must be quite a few on Rituximab like us - or other immunosuppressants that are also likely to impact on the effectiveness of the vaccines. I have no antibodies after 4 vaccines - taking Rituximab every 6 months. We are desperate as a family for Evusheld as we are still pretty much shielding and feel like life is still on hold. Evusheld 4 the UK are doing a fab job and I hope this will raise awareness. There is at least more media coverage now than there has been. 🙏🏼
