Hi Unpacked,Yes I do bruise easily, although nothing on the same scale as you.

I understand it may be the meds we take apparently, I hope you get some reassurance from this forum and answers..

Take care jx

Hi Unpacked I’ve always bruised incredibly easily. I’m on warfarin which might have something to do with it too? It’s irritating but only affects me when I’m on holiday looking like some zealous children have finger painted my legs in shocking colours! Do your bruises hurt more than normal? Sometimes I get incredibly painful ones but no idea why! They settle down after a few days. Hope that’s reassuring for you! Xx

Hi, I always have at least 5 yellow/green bruises in odd places, middle of my upper arm, bottom, belly, hip and 3 on my shins today. I am very pale skinned and anaemic so I assumed they just show up more on me than other people. Fake tan covers a whole host of problems 😀

Re: platelets and bruising:

After covid I found that when I had nose bleeds they were different.

I bled more easily (so get scared the nose bleed will be difficult to stop)

BUT the blood behaves differently - it clots more easily (so the nose bleed stops quicker than I think).

Now when it clots it only partially clots and is a jelly like mess, but underneath it has healed.

I know there was talk about antibodies to Platelet clotting Factor 4.

If folk know they have had covid, or a bad reaction to AZ vaccine, has anyone had the test for this antibody?

Hi, I also have bruising for no apparent reason. I use arnica gel which gets rid of them in a few days

I bruise like a 🍑 lol! Have had numerous blood tests and nothing abnormal has ever been found. Interestingly my cousin, who also has lupus, was first diagnosed due to the bruises on her legs. Nobody seems to be able to tell me why 😐.
