Rash
Photosensitivity rash maybe 🤔 do you wear factor 50 all over all year ? Keep a pic for your Rheumatologist x
I had this on my legs, actually still do, it was diagnosed as sebhorric dermititis (incorrect spelling) and I'm currently on long term antibiotics including a prescribed soap substitute including, for a month, a special shampoo that can also be used on your entire skin. Although, it's returned since the bottle has finished. It doesn't itch but my legs look like I'm half human half zebra. It started on my thighs and slowly spread to the entire legs.
Are you with a dermatologist? If not, ask to be referred to one if it's spreading or reach out to your GP and/or Rheumatologist.
Also do you take immunosuppressants?
Oh, that looks so raw and tender/ sore- I’m very glad to hear it isn’t.
It does not look like the SCLE sun rash rashes I get, if that’s any help. ( those are fleeting for me- 30 min most unless I actually burn, which I don’t allow to happen. )
Hi Lauramonty, This is very similar to the rash I get when flaring - usually in times of stress. Covers my torso from neck to thighs. Wouldn't know it was there unless looking in the mirror or looking downwards! Then I get the rest of my Lupus symptoms - blinding headache, swollen glands, joint pain, overwhelming fatigue, all of which are helped by a short sharp dose of prednisolone for 3 or 4 days. However these 'attacks' are now few and far between since I started hydroxychloroquine (about 11 years ago). Does yours come and go or is it there all the time now?
🤞I do hope you get answers soon. (I had symptoms for 15 years before my diagnosis - but that was a long time ago - I am old now! and things have progressed since then. Mine is also triggered by sun but I haven't seen much of that over the past 2 years!) Sending good wishes.x
Hi Lauramonty are you still getting UV exposure to that area despite it being winter? Are you sitting in front of a window or bright computer screen with a low cut top?
I sometimes still get redness above my top's neckline on the top of my chest through winter because I only wear one layer of sunscreen there or forget to apply it, whereas I wear sunscreen and Frezyderm (recommended on here but expensive) on my face and neck all year round. But I'm very sensitive to UV, including computer and phone screens (I use an eInk monitor). May not apply to you.
