Hi Folks we decided to take Bea&Mira to the beach a few weeks ago - itโs only the second time Mira has been on a beach - they were having a lovely time running and playing until Bea ran through a huge pool of water - she dosnt like water but it was fine until Mira decided to run through the pool too only she ran in and the water went up to her belly - she froze and wouldnt go any further - she wouldnโt go forward or backward and no amount of coaxing would get her out so I said how are we going to get her out so Ian said just walk away she will soon come - so walked away and she still didnโt budge - walked abit further then thankfully she turned around and ran out - so here is a pic of her in the pool of water ๐๐ถ๐ถ have a good week ๐
Itโs Monthly Mira Monday ๐ถ: Hi Folks we decided to... - LUPUS UK
Itโs Monthly Mira Monday ๐ถ
Poor Mira. Must have been a shock to suddenly find the water belly high! ๐คฃ Glad that she is ok and, I imagine she got lots of cuddles! Xx๐๐พ
Oh what a shock for her bless her. She looks so cute. New experiences for your gorgeous girl. My Brodie is like Bea hates water, Dylan despite being blind and partially deaf will have a paddle. I hope your week and Bea and Mira have a happy, drier week xxx
Thanks Cecily - how are you doing ? Xx
I am so fed up with myself. My leg keeps giving way. I have now had three nasty falls. Good job I have ample padding but I have bruises and lumps everywhere. How are you doing lovely? Xxx
Oh no Cecily Iโm so sorry to hear that about your leg giving way I suppose it must make you nervous when your walking anywhere - is it the leg that you hurt your knee ? Iโm doing really well thanks, I feel totally back to myself before the hysterectomy xx
Yes it is. My tendons are tight and painful so my leg gives way. I was asking for physio for months then I got a phone interview and was told to stand on one leg??๐ So then I crashed onto the coffee table hitting my chest, bounced off and hit the floor with my shoulder, head and my other knee so that didnโt help. I had a face to face physio two weeks ago and he said my legs are seriously unstable so I have to do exercises lying or sitting. The more I fall the stiffer and more unstable they get but I guess until they are stronger it will keep happening. I am so pleased that you are doing so well. That really is great news xxx
Thanks Cecily sounds like you have a lot of work to do on your legs - I so feel for you , it must be very hard - I bet Dylan & Brodie had a freight when you fell over - lots of love โค๏ธ
You will laugh, my first nasty fall was in September while Neil was out walking the boys. When they came in Neil rushed over panicking as the table was upturned on top of me, the dogs water ball was over the floor, the candles were scattered. He dragged the table off me and ran and got my lift cushion. Brodie was standing on my hair and poor Dylan was unsure what was happening and couldnโt find his water bowl as he is blind bless him. Neil was shouting at them to get out of the way and I was yelling. He shouted what is hurting. I said you are standing on my bloody hand lol. Chaos. Thank God for the lift cushion, it is a real help. When I fell last week in the bathroom both Neil and Rosemary were here so they rolled me onto the cushion and I was up in five minutes flat xxx
Oh that did make me laugh - sounds like something from a carry on film ๐คฃ๐
It felt like it. Poor Neil was just so stressed as he could see how hard I had fallen to hit then drag a solid oak table on top of me. Dylan was wandering about, Brodie trying to lick me better. Chaos. I laughed myself but OMG the bruises. I still have hard lumps on my shoulder over a month later. The latest fall I fell backwards hitting my ribs and my armpit on the bath and my head smashed into the door. I need adult sized bubble wrap lol xxx
So gorgeous ๐ฅฐ. I wonder if the water was warm she would be happier ?xx
So excited to see Mira! Glad she figured out what to do. I wonder what she will do the next time she sees a puddle. She is just so darn adorable!
Healing hugs.
Gorgeous pic of mira svfarmer. What a shock for her and so glad she did come out eventually!!. That was a worrying moment for you both. ๐ They're both so lovely. Hope we all have more sun and less rain. ๐โ๐Xx
Weโve had lovely weather today and forecast is nice all week - thatโs in Bristol - where abouts are you in the country Misty ? Xx
I'm in the South west too svfarmer, further down from Bristol in the West Country, North Devon. Small World. I came to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for years for my care. Enjoy the lovely sun, careful with paddling!. Send some down if you can spare some. Keep safe.Xx
Ahhhhh! Once a diva always a diva ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ
You got it ๐๐๐ howโs your walking issues Meg and your poor knee? Xx
Hi SV. I had the op to replace my damaged knee meniscus about 2 weeks ago and I admit to still feeling very sorry for myself. Not like me at all.
The staples - 16 of them - were removed last week but the pain doesn't seem to be easing. I went into shock, so I'm told, a few hours after the surgery when my blood sodium levels dropped dramatically followed by my BP. Although my core temperature remained fine my extremities - feet, hands, nose (!!) - became very cold and I had to be wrapped in a heat blanket. Slowly, I started to feel a bit better and I was given oral morphine to ease the pain. But it turns out I'm allergic to morphine ๐คทโโ๏ธ which gave me severe D and Vs. Absolutely awful.
So sorry for the rant. Had to get it off my chest and you asked the question - sooo sorry.
Also, sorry to read in an earlier post that you've had cancer. May I ask how you are managing (I had breast cancer almost 2 years ago). But I'm so happy you're recovering well from your recent surgery. You are one very strong, brave lady.
So sorry for the rant.
๐๐๐
You rant away Meg - nothing better for getting it out your system - what an awful time youโve had of it with your operation and being allergic to morphine also , itโs no wonder your feeling sorry for yourself , fingers crossed in a few weeks that your pain eases ๐ค๐ค
Iโm really sorry to learn that you had breast cancer , do you have scans every year now ? Iโve got 2 friends who had breast cancer , itโs such a worry isnโt it - my cancer was ovarian thatโs why I had all my surgery recently but I feel very lucky that it was all removed and I donโt need chemo - did you go through chemo? One of my best friends has bowel cancer and she is going through chemo and she has found it so draining and so tough .
And Meg you are also a very strong brave lady , sending you big hugs from me, Bea&Mira ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ถ๐ถ๐ฅฐ
Thank you SV, you are very kind.Ah yes, I remember now that your surgery was routed in a dx of ovarian cancer. I'm sure you're very relieved that it was all removed intact. Ovarian cancer is a difficult one to dx, so at least you can be sure now that you've got an 'all clear'.
I had early stage breast cancer which was removed by a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and hormonal treatment drugs for life. No chemo - thank goodness!
I'm feeling much more positive today. Thank you again for listening to yesterdays rant.
Lots of love and hugs to you and yours,
๐ค๐ค๐ค๐๐๐๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ
Your very welcome - Iโm so glad you didnโt have to have chemo either and it was caught early - the only symptom I had for ovarian cancer was I bleed for 3 weeks and knew this was very strange for me, I usually had periods every 4 weeks for 5 days , I have a very good GP who got me in for a scan a week after I saw her and it just went from there - they do say that ovarian cancer is the silent killer so am so relieved - have a lovely weekend and so glad your feeling bit better today โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Mira would have been stunned, she would be working it out in her wee head the safest way to escape out of the water.Soon as she seen her pack getting further away, she knew she had to run for it.
Probably the next time she goes back to the beach, she will take to the water "like a duck".
Go Mira, another wee experience in your happy dog life.
Woof Woof.
๐พ๐ฆ
Awwwwโฆ๐คโฅ๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐
Ah a lovely pic. It's a year today since I lost Daniel my cavalier king charles spaniel and I am still finding it hard sending love to you all xxxx
Aww, poor Mira, I bet the water was cold. ๐ฅถ Do you think she was waiting to be rescued? Walking away did the trick. ๐ Sheโll know what to do next time. ๐ Hoping you are feeling fully recovered now SV. ๐ Take care. ๐Xxx
Iโm SO pleased to hear you feel on top of the world SV.๐ฅณ๐๐ป๐๐ป Iโm not bad thanks and was pleased the flu and covid booster jabs I had on the same day had no ill effect beyond feeling drained the next day and a slight headache for 4 - 5 days. Iโm more anxious about hubby who is losing weight and had thyroid and Gravesโ disease ruled out. Heโs just had a colonography (scan) done today so will hear the result next week. Then he goes for 2nd heart ablation in far away Glasgow on 15th right at end of this COP 26 so canโt get into the hotel adjoining the hospital as fully booked. Heโs to be there for 7.30 am so the charity who runs you to Glasgow hospitals for ยฃ35 return is naturally finding it difficult to get a volunteer driver for that time of the morning. Trying to make these arrangements are very stressful and something we cold do without. But other than that all is fine. Thanks for asking. I could do with a wee cuddle with Mira to make me relax more. ๐ฅฐTake care SV. ๐๐ค๐xxx
Oh dear Iโm so sorry to hear about your hubby still losing weight - Iโm hoping he will get some answers next week when you get the scan results - yes like you say trying to make arrangements is all very stressful for you both - sending a virtual hug from Mira - she gives the best cuddles - good luck for hubby when he goes for his heart ablation ๐ค๐ค๐ถ๐ถ๐
Hi SV, even though she's in a muddle in a puddle, Mira still poses for the camera, look at her upright tail !! Many years ago we brought our now dead labrador to the seaside for the first time and he barked like crazy at the waves and when the rolling in sea on the shore line wet his paws he went ballastic jumping up and down and growling like mad , your post brought back that memory to me, hope you are still recovering well. xx
