Does anyone know how long after a flare-up should you get a Covid 19 vaccine?

I doubt there is any data on it - I don't have lupus but another a/i disorder but personally I'd be there for the jab whatever! I've been in a permanent flare relative to previously for the last 18 months and took the jab when it was offered. The first one didn't make any difference and I was at about 12/13mg pred at the time and didn't really need to change. After the second I had a minor increase in symptoms - but there was also an element of stress around too.

Thank you for your immediate response. I have cancelled twice on vaccination because of feeling that my symptoms were from a flare-up or inflammation. Increased prednisone has helped reduced the symptoms.

I am concerned that taking the vaccine may make matters worse if taken closely following a flare-up.

I suppose the trouble is you don't really know if you waiting to be further out of the flare would mean you have another flare - it is perfectly possible. I always look at it as what would Covid itself do to me - the jab can only be less worse ...

I agree with you--the benefit of the vaccine outweighs the risk. That's a positive way to look at it.

I wavered too as had long covid at the time. I too cancelled a few times and the stress of the decision was awful.

When I did go ahead I searched reputable sites online to find out what to expect of side-effects. For some reason I was not given a leaflet at my appointment.

I used Excel to make a log of any side-effects.

I took photos of anything strange that happened - forwarded to my GP - they responded really well.

I kept in touch with my GP surgery when I decided to take aspirin for a worsened headache.

I did what my body told me to do - as have more confidence doing things that way.

It is a very individual decision. Discussing if and when with your GP may help - I discussed with my surgery several times. Hope this helps a bit. Commiserate with you.
