I was recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis along with Lupus. Does anyone know if this is what is making my feet look silvery like this? My feet/bottom of heels are very painful!!

Foot fungus can also resemble that. Have you tried a fungus cream on the area?

Just looking at my feet now and they are exactly the same. I don't have lupus (suspected scleroderma). I have to see a podiatrist often to take the skin away. The skin on my lower legs is not great either and I have what looks like a constant heat rash. I would suggest asking a podiatrist and to use plenty of moisturiser, good luck, X

Are you wearing any shoes sandals etc. that cause the area to get pressure / rubbing. Do not soak your feet ,just wash and dry carefully between toes and a body shop “file a foot “ gently on the area . Then a foot cream with urea ,Flexitol is also good .Do not use cream between your toes.

Palmoplantar psoriasis can look like this and should be treated with topical steroids. Don’t scrape or file lesions if they hurt. They are not callouses but rashes. People get deep cracks and splits in their feet and need to be treated appropriately. Treatment for psoriasis is different from lupus and some lupus treatments can bring out psoriasis.

Let your doc know about your feet. A change in management needs to be had. I also agree with Roarah that fungal/bacterial infections should be ruled out with a simple culture.

I have RA as part of AI condition Stills Disease. RA in big toe joints produces skin like that under both joints, I use a quality foot moisturiser and skin softener daily. I find exfoliating and using the pommy stone make it much much worse and it’s sometimes so sore it hurts to walk. My chiropodist suggests that going without socks makes it worse as damaged skin promotes contact dermatitis. We’re all different so do check it all out but for me a good layer of skin softening cream at night with socks on produces good results. Good luck .
