Lupus and memory problems.

Has anyone experienced terrible memory loss,im getting really worried as feel its getting worse and i feel so stupid at times,do silly things and my mind goes blank in middle of conversations.

Yes! I have had an awful time with short term memory loss as well as trouble focusing. I also get confused a lot, especially if I'm stressed. I used to think this was a hypothyroid thing but that all tested out fine. I've since been diagnosed with Lupus and Addison's disease so I'm guessing it's from the Lupus. It's very frustrating!

Hi. I have been wondering, too, about the forgetful episodes and the blanking out when doing things I know well. It does make me feel stupid at times. I would also be interested in more information.

It is probably important to remember that it is not normal for you to be forgetful and tha t you may have identified a symptom that could help in your treatment. Thanks for bringing this up.

Yes ! We call it Lupus fog ! Am learning to live with it - mainly by laughing at it !!

Confusion, difficulty in articulating thoughts and memory impairment are common symptoms that are associated with lupus; it is referred to as ‘brain fog’ or ‘lupus fog’. Hey, oh yes forgetting the name of things... one of the symptoms of Lupys is cognitive dysfunction. Or as us lupies call "brain" or "lupus" fog. Its commonly bought on by stress or flare up x

can anything be done to help apart from stay away from stress which is a no no for me especially at the moment having my e.s.a. stopped and being forced to go on jobseekersand searching for work. got no concentration, I can't take information in and so forgetful, worrying me as half the time I don't feel with it. aching muscles, had back, neck and shoulders is really getting me down.
