Strange Spiral (poss discoid) rash?

Hi All,

I’m currently in the process of getting a diagnosis for whatever is wrong with me. I suffer with a large, broad range of symptoms, which I believe may be lupus.

Could anyone look at these skin rashes I have previously had and tell me if they may be a sign of lupus?

I took the photos when I didn’t realise that I was poorly, I was more weirded out at the pattern of these on my skin!

Both rashes have been on my thigh, in different places, weren’t itchy or sore!

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Molly ☺️

Hi M0lly. You don't say if you have a dermatologist or not as they are the ones who have a better idea and do a biopsy if needed. Sorry I can't be of more help for you but it's doctor's who can tell you what it is and if it is part of a wider picture.Good luck with your results and appointments, almost forgot I think you might find some photo's further back in my post's just click on my name and see but don't forget you need a doctor to diagnose whatever

Hello

Looking quickly at your photos your rash reminds me of the SCLE annular rash.

I originally was diagnosed with SCLE but it never made sense for me, as my rashes were not like either of the two very distinct SCLE rashes.

I’ll find some links for you.

Does this come out when you’re exposed to UV?

Best wishes

Wendy

PS I’m sure you know that I’m not medically qualified and cannot diagnose. This is just my own thoughts on that particular shaped rash. Do you have a Dermy? I have a rash that when biopsied confirmed I didn’t have SCLE but had Systemic Lupus with Discoid Lupus etc etc.

“There are two kinds of subacute cutaneous lupus lesions: papulosquamous lesions and annular lesions. “This type of lupus tends to be very photosensitive,” says Werth. It can be an indication of systemic lupus, but it can also happen on its own, according to NYU Langone Health. The rash typically isn’t itchy or painful and rarely leaves scars.

“Papulosquamous lesions appear as red scaly areas and can be on the shoulders, back, and chest, whereas annular lesions can appear in circular, ring-type patterns and can look like a fungal infection,” says Stojan.”

So SCLE has two rashes, papulosquamous lesions and annular lesions. I think yours is like the annular lesion?
