Morning everyone. Getting ready for my pcr test today before going in for my kidney biopsy Monday 😩. My question today though is does anyone suffer with watering eyes? My son asked me to play on his ps5 yesterday and in minutes my were streaming. I thought it was abit of hayfever as it started Saturday now I'm not sure 😭

It is a symptom of dry eye syndrome which is common in autoimmune disorders. The eyes don't produce the usual thick tears that keep the surface of the eye moist and healthy and which are spread over the eye by blinking. If the "good" tears aren't present, your eyes react by producing copious amounts of thin tears which tend to overflow and your eyes water. When you use a screen you tend not to blink as much and your eyes get dry ...

This could be it? I'm waiting for a referral for an eye test as possible diagnosis sle/sjorgens. Any advice on what I can do to help it. I've got constant watering eyes which is making my nose run and head hurt xx

You can get OTC eye drops and sprays that help - at the chemist and opticians and some even in supermarkets. I find the drops are very thick - probably good at night - but do like the liposomal sprays you apply to your closed eyes and which then work their way to moisten the eyes from outside. Using them regularly is best.Taking frequent rests from the screen and consciously blinking may help too.

GP prescribed me Clinitas carbomer gel.It blurs my. Vision So I use it at night. Someone on the Sjogrens forum suggests Viscotears.

I bought them online ,as I dothave the strength or inclination toget 2 sorts of eye drops on the repeat prescription.

I hope you find something that suits you.

Try and find preservative free eye drops such as Hyloforte. Most opticians sell these. Avoid drops containing preservative and see an optician who can do a slit test and others to diagnose and confirm dry eyes. The opticians usually are really good compared to Rheumatologists who run schirmers test - which is most unpleasant and of dubious reliability.
