I started to collect amusing notices I saw when out and about and of course haven’t added to them for over a year since lockdown began. But I saw this one in Portpatrick and felt I must share it with all of you.
If it reminds you of any funny notices you’ve seen, please do share.

Oops! Shows how much I know. 🤦♀️ No Dads, no children and no pets at present makes us lose track of these things.🤭 I’m sure Neil will be tickled pink when he receives it. 😁👍🏻👍🏻xx
I only know because I got his card from Thortful which do some great cards with chocolates in the centre. I bought him a lovely mustard yellow Weird Fish top too. Those boys never pay me back lol xxx
I’ll have to look up Thortful up Cecily. We love Weird Fish things too. 👍🏻 I hope the boys persuade their Dad to buy you gifts as lovely for your birthday and Mother’s Day. 😆 They’ll never pay you back with money but their love and the cuddles you can have with them more than makes up I’m sure. 🥰. Xxx
Absolutely they are such affectionate boys. Thortful is great if you want a last minute card sent or want something different. I found them a few years ago while I was looking for a Fathers Day card. It is nice to know that we are not the only people who do it xxx
That’s lovely that they are both so affectionate. No, I’m sure many people receive cards and pressies from their pets. Now our pets have gone we still buy things for each other from the wild birds for hubby who feeds them every morning or from the potted plants for me as they’d be dead if left to hubby. 😂😂 Thanks for telling me about Thortful Cecily, I had a look and they certainly have a huge range of things and very topical and up to date. 👍🏻👍🏻 Enjoy your holiday weekend. 🤗😘xx
Hello dear spotty, just love the notice. Its really made me 😀this am. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thats a wonderful idea to collect 'funnies ' while out and about. There can be some wonderful ones.
Thank you for your lovely messages and photos. Im so pleased your trip has been such a good success and you've achieved so much. Must have done you both so much good to have a change of scenery and what beautiful scenery it is too!. 😀
Safe journey home and i will email you over the weekend. Its a bank holiday for us, not sure if it is for you. Take care. Xx
Thank you so much Misty. Yes, the trip has done us both the world of good . Whether good weather or bad (and we’ve had both) we’ve enjoyed it and the relaxing it has made us do.So pleased your foot is healing well and I hope the pain is under control now.🙏🏻 I hope you enjoy getting out and about a bit yourself now Misty and catching up with friends.
It is pouring with rain here today so we went to Stranraer where I bought some bedding plants so you can guess what I’ll be doing over the bank holiday weekend. 😁 Enjoy your weekend Misty and I look forward to hearing from you when you have time. 🤗😘xx
Love this Spotty! I think dogs have us well trained - getting US to pick up their poo!!! A great idea to collect some funnies...I’ll keep in the look out for some! 🤗😘🤗
Brilliant! I’m a trained holistic therapist. I love reflexology. I once saw a sign outside a stall in a market saying “Reflexology sessions £15 per foot” . You would never do just one foot on someone. Even if they had only one foot you would do the hand of the other side. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I’ll definitely start collecting photos of signs now. What a great idea.
😆 Yes, I see what you mean about the reflexology notice being ambiguous and could be taken as meaning a foot in length, although when Reflexology is usually confined to feet and hands doesn’t relate properly. Hoping you find some more funny ones on your outings. 🤞 🤗xx
That dog reminds me the one from the Wooden Tops, do you remember then? I think it was late 1960s when it was on TV?
I grew up in Australia so didn’t see the Wooden Tops, but hubby remembers it and agrees with you. I hope he wasn’t sweeping up poop on the programme? 😂
Hilarious poster. Hope it makes people think. We have a chap in our town who started litter picking at the weekends and it’s really taken off. Squads of people are now tidying up the verges, pavements etc. It’s made a huge difference.
That is brilliant! 👍🏻Good for him. 👏🏻👏🏻 I met a man at the airport once who told me he’d started washing street signs on a Sunday and one by one people started to join him until like your man he had quite a squad. It shows there are community minded people out there if somebody gets it started. And yes, what a difference it must make to have road signs we can read and clean verges and footpaths. Good to hear thanks Barbara. 🤗xx
