Thanks Paul. I am in the high risk group. Lost count of the many times the receptionists has turned me away saying that I am not eligible for the vaccine, even though I have received at least 3 text messages from the NHS. I went as far as calling 119 and they claim that the GP Surgery is responsible. Dont know what to do now. Have tried booking online under the high risk group heading but it says page overload? Dont know what to do now? 😕

Update

What about housebound patients? Made to understand that the PM stated housebound patients are not being missed. District Nurses are going to patients' individual homes and to date they are on target. My District Nurse Team has not visited me at all even though they have been for other medical reasons. They're extremely surprised that I have not received any vaccine as yet. My GP Surgery is lacking proper information to and I don't know what to do. I am unable to travel to a vaccine site. I am a high risk patient.

Just tried to register online and they said if I am unable to travel to a vaccine centre, must check back regularly to see where a nearer centre will be open closest to me.

This statement does not cater for bedbound patients in their homes.

How does one get District Nurses to come to visit them at home to administer the vaccine if they are not sent by their GP? Do you have any information that covers this?

Hi denden ,

Have you managed to speak to your GP, or is it just the receptionists? Over the past couple of months I've heard so many reports of people with lupus being given incorrect information about their eligibility for the vaccines by GP Practice receptionists. I would urge you to try and make an appointment with your doctor to discuss this. I believe that your GP would need to coordinate with a local care team for you to have the vaccine administered at your home.
