I had yet another phone appointment today with Dermatology, strange really as they can't see what's actually happening so they're working blind.
Anyway for a years now I've been asking for another skin biopsy as the one done 4 years ago was from a week's old rash, that old it's companion spot's disappeared 2 days later so I am sceptical of the result which I was first informed was Urticarial Vasculitis and then it was changed when the head of department took a one second glance at it and change it to Lymphocytic Infiltration of Jessner's. Apparently it's fairly rare so I was left thinking if it's rare just how many case's has he seen in person to make such a diagnosis in one second, it really was that quick T-shirt up, T-shirt down.
So after year's of asking and my telling them that it doesn't behave anything like Jessner's and being told it could be asymptomatic, I finally got firm.
The consultant admitted that even he wasn't sure as there are a number of rashes that very similar and two including Jessner's that are so close they are as good as identical. He agreed that the biopsy needs to be from a fresh rash, bingo I've got a fresh crop started this week so I'm now waiting on a phone call to come in early next week. This time I'm totally clear of Hydroxy and 2x180 Fexofenadine that could squiff the test result.
When the results come back I can then restart the Hydroxy 3 a day for one week because the skin and other symptoms are in over drive then x2 for 4 weeks and 1 thereafter until the next consult.
Finger's crossed.
