2 - 3 Volunteers needed for BBC (online) piece on how COVID has affected lupus care and mental health

Following on from the recent media interest in the research studies on COVID and lupus care from MelanieSloan and Cambridge University, The BBC has been in contact and asked if anyone would like to do further awareness raising by being a case study in a written report that will be available on BBC online.

You would need to be willing to give your name and a photo, and a brief phone interview today or tomorrow with the BBC interviewer. They are looking for the following:

Must live in one of the following counties: Cambs, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Beds, Herts, Bucks or Northamptonshire.

Someone who hasn't seen their rheumy during COVID despite needing to and feels medically abandoned.

Someone else who has experienced better mental health/wellbeing during lockdown due to feeling less pressure and that all of society 'is in the same boat'

Someone who has had treatment delayed due to COVID and/or become unwell with their lupus due to delayed treatment/ appointments

Please note this is BBC led and neither LUPUS UK or Cambridge University will have control over the interviews or what is published but they are a reputable journalist and acting to raise awareness of lupus.

I would like to do something like that.But I live in London.

My experience is very similar and for weeks I’ve been wondering where to seek help or at least have my voice heard... unfortunately Covid is the worlds priority and everyone else can just suffer in silence. I despair
