Merry Christmas from LUPUS UK (Office Closing Dates)

The LUPUS UK National Office will be closed starting from 22nd December 2017 until 2nd January 2018.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to:

– All our wonderful volunteers

– Everyone who ran, cycled, walked, jumped out of planes, baked or did anything else to help raise vital funds for the charity.

– All the generous people who donated funds allowing us to continue our work, to fund lupus research and specialist nurses around the UK.

– Anyone who helped raise awareness of lupus by displaying a poster, handing out leaflets or sharing our posts on social media sites.

– Members of the medical profession who have contributed to lupus research and care for people with lupus.

Please continue to support us in any way that you can throughout 2018.

We look forward to publishing new information booklets and leaflets, supporting our existing regional groups, regenerating groups that are inactive, raising awareness of lupus, funding lupus research and providing grants for Specialist Lupus Nurses.

We would like to wish you and your families all the best for this festive season and a prosperous and healthy 2018.

Thank you for your suggestion. Are you asking for a blog about what vaccines people with lupus should and shouldn't have or whether there are any known links between lupus and vaccines?

Happy New Year!

About vaccines that people with lupus should and shouldn't have, bits of advice, etc. I'm learning more and more about this subject and lupus. It's a tricky subject as I'm never sure when it's the best for moment for these, with a flare but under treatment or without a flare/remission when having the basic treatment?

Something new I learnt: My baby recently got his rotovirus jab, and I learnt from this that for two weeks changing his nappy could pose a risk for people with a severely weak immune system.

Hi Dalilatm ,

OK, I definitely think that there could be some important information to share in an article on this topic, but I'm not sure whether it lends itself to much contribution from the community and whether it may be too technical for me to write myself with existing information.

I will think over this and whether it would be a good topic for a blog article, or whether I should ask a clinician to write something for us instead.
