Hi, I'm new here. My experience with the NHS Scotland has been poor. It's a mixture of benign indifference and barely concealed disbelief. Is it the same throughout the NHS?

Hi and welcome...yes weve all been there at some point....told it's all in our heads for many a year.be confident in how you feel dont let them fob you off.keep a symptoms diary and pics if possible. There is plenty of advice here from some lovely caring people who have a wealth of experience so do join in and ask . Keep smiling xx
I'm in scotland too and it's hit and miss. I get good doctors whose hands are tied by rules made by accountants. Gp appointments pre covid took 6 - 8 weeks to get the "good" one. since covid, well where my GP's are is a mystery as I either can't get through on the phone or they're fully booked. consultants frequently rush you through an appointment due to being over worked and only deal with one issue at each visit, other problems get ignored. It doesn't help when you have brain fog and need to be more thorough and slow in order to remember things.
Hi I’m in scotland too, I see the same GP for 5 years now and couldn’t fault her, she knows me and my daughters so easy to phone her for phone appointments at the moment. I was under one consultant but have felt not getting any further help for the last year but definitely feel I’m still deteriorating with muscle aches, joints and back ( can’t walk far I’m 43) so GP has referred us to a different hospital hopefully fresh eyes will help 🤞 been on same meds for a while now. I know I’m on waiting list but as it’s phone appointments with COVID my last appointment with old consultant was a total waste of time couldn’t hear him very well and just said I cope well and get swimming! ( pool had just reopened dec but lock down again) my next appointment was booked as phone call too so not missing anything while wait on new consultant appointment 🤞
