Blood thinner and infection

Hi there,

Has anyone found being on blood thinners makes having viruses and bacterial infections worse? I usually cope well enough with my lupus colds, flus and stomach upsets. But 6 months ago I was put on thinners for a clot and am not coping so well with my current cold/flu.

Would appreciate your experience,

I have another autoimmune disorder - but I was on something similar to warfarin for a few years and now am on one of the new generation anticoagulants and don;t think either hae ever made colds worse.

Hi I'm on apixaban, and /I haven't noticed infections etc being worse, i just bleed more if I cut myself and bruise more easily. hope you feel better soon x
