An early good morning to you all.

I am grateful for everyone's help on here, even though it may take me a while at times to reply.

I've been awake since 03.30, becoming a regular wake up pattern then I'm back to sleep about 3 maybe 4 hours later. Then I'm tired all day.

Pain in my legs is what has me awake today, it has been my neck and shoulders lately, where I have really bad osteoarthritis πŸ˜–

I am fed up with either this or that pain. Tried keeping a lil active but it's getting difficult with pains and my hands/arms jerking so much. Threw a knife at hubby again last week it was my cup of coffee yesterday again πŸ™„ so he's staying a few steps away now unless I need his help.

Some warm milk and pain killers then try and sleep 🀞

Hi Bronn, I have messed up sleep patterns at the mo mainly due to steroids and probably a bit of stress due to the pandemic. I try and just go with it and accept that that’s how it is, it seems to help a little. Have you tried any OTC sleep remedies? These may help now and again to anchor you into sleep a little longer. I hope you get some respite soon and hubby stays injury free! 😊xx

I am prescribed bu tec patches and meloxicam for the osteoarthritis. Might be worth asking.

Hi Bronn I have a very broken sleep pattern because of pain and bladder urge and frequency. I have tried everything from sleeping pills to antidepressants without much benefit. Now I take 2 Garbapentin at night and sleep with my legs raised and I am getting at least four hours in between bladder urges. Mind you it is very odd to wake from a deep sleep and try to struggle out of bed while your legs are in the air lol. Sending you big Cwtches and hoping things improve for you xx

Hi Cecily, I've been sleeping with my legs raised for a 4 weeks now and 3 x300mg of gabapentin at night too. I'm having to lower my legs a lil as I have severe disc problems in lower back and it was too painful to sleep with my legs raised too high. I have switched around some of my meds with times I take. At the moment it seems hit and miss as to whether I sleep. My lupus flares are getting more frequent and more often so I've put it down to being in so much pain causing me not to sleep. I will persist with new sleep routine, and yes it is odd struggling to get out of bed, thankfully my e/wheelchair stops me from falling 🀣🀣

Stay safe and well πŸ’

Hi Bronn, I think many things stop us from sleeping, pain being one of the worst culprits. For me bladder frequency is a huge thing too. My new Rheumatologist suggested sleep apnoea but I am not aware of anything stopping me breathing although hubby says I do snore at times. Stress and anxiety is another thing. Sometimes no matter what I do I do not sleep a wink. Other time’s I just cannot wake up, my eyes are rolling and I stagger about for a few hours on getting up. I hope you find something that works for you. Stay safe too xx

Hi Cecily, I too have bladder urges due to overactive bladder. Yes I too sometimes sleep so good I'm like a zombie in the morning. Stress now that's something I've struggled to control for years. So all that added to pain from numerous conditions it's not surprising I don't sleep much most of the time. I am going to speak to rheumy about this and my numerous flares next week 🀞 I've been told there's hope for us all. Many thanks Take care πŸ’

Bless you. Before my illness I thrived on stress but now it makes me feel very unwell. I only have to see a brown envelope and I am stressed to hell. Illness makes you so vulnerable I think. Good luck with your Rheumatology consultation. I hope they can help you xx
