Eye swelling

Hi

Hope everyone is okay .

Haven’t been on much due to constant worry and feeling scared .

Still have no rheumatologist appointment and probably won’t now until next year .

I was just wondering, does anyone get a swollen eyelid ? Mines is always the left one ? It doesn’t hurt and no other symptoms just doesn’t look right and it’s very noticeable.

Thanks everyone

Oh boy Natz again sorry can’t help you with answers as none myself but I have half a face dropped and to top it my eye face swells wildly , all one side the dropped side, and sounds crazy but my lips one side too my eye with drop and swelling leaves me unable to see with that eye it just closes and above eyebrow it dips and that’s where it hurts like being pulled tight🤷‍♀️ Take photographs until you can get it seen. Is it there permanent? 🤗

Hi

It’s not always noticeable?

Before my period it’s extremely noticeable also when it was warm last week I had very dry eyes it wasn’t pleasant at all .

X

Sorry to hear about yours also and yes it does look droopy also x I have a picture and will definitely show rheumatologist once I get an appointment x

I once went into a flare after an extremely stressful event and developed swollen eyelids.

It was an inflammatory response due to stress in my case. I found a cold compress and cucumber slices on my eyes soothed it but eventually I had to have an increase in steroids for it to pass

Is there any signs of infection? I wonder if sending a photo to your GP would be a good idea? You don't want it to progress and develop into infection etc?

Thanks so much lovely.

It’s so difficult to see doctor right now and it makes me more anxious they have also stopped the photograph being sent now ☹️

It’s usually more noticeable before my period and only last week I had very dry eyes x

Will try the cold compress tomorrow x

No no infection, no watering of eyes no redness it’s not sore it’s just swollen and looks droopy x

That's interesting that it is worse before a period. A bit of a red flag.

My lupus symptoms always go into overdrive before my period to the point that my body feels like it is just in auto pilot. I'm there now. I've been in bed these past two days. Dry eyes, mouth and nasal sores. And fatigue is so bad.

It's a pattern but I know it will pass.

My understanding is that oestrogen can fuel lupus in some so maybe that's why you get the inflammation?

Make sure you get a picture of it so when you eventually see a rheumie they can see it.

I hope it improves soon .

Hi

I got my periods back nearly three years now and ever since I haven’t been right at all !

I constantly have a stuffy nose worse before periods, and the swelling I also have balance and dizziness and recently started getting tremors after doing a little gardening I have filmed the tremors in my hands also x

I know I’ll get answers one day just fed up I’m 38 this year and don’t have much to show for it at all 😢

Feel like I’ve let myself down my daughter and my parents god bless them both x

I hope you feel better soon thanks for being kind x

You've literally just described me. I have been dizzy and shaky all daym it's like vertigo.

I am 38. I don't have children. You do have alot to show for your life. A beautiful daughter.

Don't beat yourself up. From what I understand you are waiting to see a Rheumatologist. Be kind to yourself. It's easier said than done.

Stress will only make things worse. I learned that the hard way x
