No longer being a pet owner myself, I’m wondering how you pet owners are coping with the isolation and what the pets are thinking of it.🐕🦺🐈🐇🐴🦜
Are they pleased you are home more, upset they aren’t getting as many walks, annoyed they can’t occupy their favourite chair when you are there all the time? And are horses able to be exercised at all?

My boy is happy with company, he’s getting on and arthritic so sleeps a fair bit , he’s desperately missing the beach ( darent say that word aloud) and still getting a walk , be it shorter, but Seems to be in and out the garden more. He likes to watch the world go by at the front of the house and usually laps up the fuss from passing neighbours , and looks somewhat deflated that there’s no one there 🙈☹️
You do wonder what they think 🤷♀️ But he’s so laid back he just takes what comes his way . No one can steal his chair , it’s his 😂😂😂
The parrot is loving it, more people to talk to and to her the more the merrier, but of a party animal , lives noise and commotion 😂😂
The yard where friends horse is stabled has given time slots, so they turn up individually to see to their horses and no hanging around after. 🙈
Can still smell the farmers muck spreading unless it’s the piling so I guess the cows going about business as usual 😂😂😂😂
And still hear the rooster every morning so he’s sticking to routine 😂
Aww, your poor doggy. He must wonder what he’s done to upset all the neighbours who used to make such a fuss of him at the front of your house. 😂 But otherwise he sounds unphased by the changes (except his jaunts to the beach🤫) and is definitely given all the love and attention he could wish for. 👍🏻👍🏻
But isolation is good news for your parrot by the sounds of it. She sounds like a lot of fun.😘

Yes she’s fun I phoned a dear friend today she’s 86 and in fine fettle , isolating and oh my did she laugh , she said she was crying with laughter. She has a Smallholding, lives alone since husband passing but animals have been her life, she’s still out seeing to her horses and geese and dogs and cats and wildlife, they keep her going , and she them. 😍😍I was sat next to kia when phoned her and kia didn’t stop talking, and my friend was ‘oh how I’d love her, I’ll phone you next time, don’t worry if you’re not there I’ll talk to kia 😂👍👍👍 she said she’s made my day, 😂 so our good deed for the day is done, and I guess we take it for granted everyday , but my friends cheer was a sweet reminder 😂😂

Hi Spotty, Storm is in heaven, as he gets all the attention, and none of the scrapps!! I tried to post his photo, but I suddenly lost the ability here. I do not know what to do. But with farm animals, they are free here to roam as they please. The horses and cows share there pastures, and there owners here, are already social distancing on their properties, LOL.. So kind and sweet.. Storm, who befriended a rabbit, Spoiled rotten, and soo lovingly happy happy, joy joy, with bunches of ruff-ruff-ruff to go around to everyone. My hubby cant get a walk in without someone, or little lambs coming to greet, and pet him.... He is loving life, as I hope you, and your loved ones are, as well as everyone here in this great germ free space!!! Hi there. My boys are used to having us both home and getting undivided attention but they really want to be out for hours which is not possible. My husband takes them for a walk just a mile or so early in the morning and late at night so he does not see many people at all. In the house we play ball and have tug toys and chews so that they are not too bored. Now that the weathers getting nicer they will be out in the garden with my husband chasing the pressure washer and digging holes xx

Since I’m on my own and can’t leave the house my collie went to live with friends part way through week one. He stays with them whenever I’m on holiday so loves them to bits and is getting a good long walk every day.
I miss him a lot but am coping because I know it’s best for him.
And before anyone asks, no, I didn’t send him away because he rolled in cat poo on day one. X

Both my rescue cats (Otis and Ziva) LOVE that we are both now home (I’m usually here but hubby would normally be at the office 3 days a week minimum or perhaps even traveling).
They are extremely spoiled and needy Siamese. Both have made several appearances in my husband’s video teleconferences and they typically keep him company in his makeshift office in the basement. We’ve even provided them a chair in order to keep them off of his lap or desk (that only works occasionally 😉). Our boy, Otis, used to hate the days when hubby would get up very early (4:30am) and go to work. He would whine and sulk around the house. Otis is a very happy boy these days!
Ziva loves the extra attention she gets as well. Lots of playtime and more adventures outside than normal (she has to be supervised lest she attempts escape!) I do think both cats also like no visitors as they tend to be very possessive.
Makes me wonder what they will think when life returns back to “normal”......
Sounds like Otis and Ziva have been rescued by very loving people 🥰 so no wonder they don’t like sharing you with anybody else and don’t like you out of their sight. 💕 It will be hard for them when things return to normal as you say, but they’ll love every minute until then. 😁 Thanks for sharing with us Milkwoman. Pity we couldn’t see them. They sound adorable.

These two have rescued US as we had just lost our first fur baby, Cleo (another Siamese) after 21 years. I’ve never had a heart so broken. Otis and Ziva have made it all a little less sorrowful and I will spoil them until the end of time.

I am so glad Otis and Ziva are filling the painful gap Cleo left in your lives. I’ll never stop missing all my fur babies I’ve lost over the years either. They were all different and all individuals that claimed a big part of our hearts. But my life would have been so much duller without them and I’m grateful to them for their love and company and fun they brought to our lives. Cleo lived to a good age so many happy years with her to treasure and recall. I hope Otis and Ziva have very long and happy lives with you and your hubby and I’m sure they’ll bring you as much pleasure as you do to them.

Hi All. My rescue calico cat Caramel and I are doing quite nicely talking to each other!!! She doesn't argue or answer back and has always been very affectionate so I am extremely lucky. After not being able to walk a dog any more I didn't think I would get another pet but Caramel and I have become best buddies. I'm so glad she mewed at me at the rescue centre. 🐈Love to you all from us both❤️

I have two hamsters and it makes not one bit of difference to them! I prepared for the possibility of this happening and stocked up on bags of food, potty letter etc. well in advance. Probably have enough to last until Christmas! Xx
