Vulnerability letter

Hi I hope everyone is keeping safe & as well as possible. Thanks everyone for your replies.

It seems that there is a lot of confusion & no one including medical staff knows who is in which group. However, tonight i logged into Patient Access app to order my medication. Further down the home page it says that if you are entitled to receive a free flue injection then you are at high risk, unfortunately I seem to be in that group. It maybe because I have lupus or possibly because I have mild asthma, I'm not sure, but I think that we will have to wait and see. Please keep us all updated if anyone finds anything else out. Goodnight

Hi, I received a text message at the start of last week saying that I was at risk & finally received my letter yesterday. I have pulmonary fibrosis along with lupus & scleroderma so I’m not too sure which has actually caused me to be put on the list - I’m guessing it’s my copd.

Hopefully you get contacted soon but either way, don’t put yourself at risk. I personally would isolate for the full 12 weeks & get others to get your medications & shopping. Our local community have pulled together & are offering to do get essentials for the vulnerable people.

Keep well & stay safe.

If you are at risk and need to shield for 12 weeks you should have received a letter and text message from NHS. GP’s have (apparently) notified NHS of their are risk’ patients. Regardless we should all follow government guideline and we will get through this. Stay safe xx

We'll get through regardless of Government suggestions. I'm not religious but I'm sure there is a fate mapped out for us all. When you go you go!

I think its gods way of dealing with things because the world is over crowded & putting too much pressure on the planet. Not everyone goes to where they are supposed to go as my house is definitely haunted, please don't laugh at that.

Hi I work in a Gp surgery in NI, England may be slightly different but I suspect not. Lupus was not on the list (I was worried about my sister who is SLE) but yes Severe COPD (only severe or oxygen therapy) and pulmonary fibrosis are included Moominmomma.

Some amber drugs like Methotrexate are included but with these drugs its very complicated and here the rheumatology dept has written directly to its patients.

I"m in Scotland and received the vulnerability letter yesterday 8th April. Have to isolate for 12 weeks, am eligible for a regular free food parcel from the Scottish government (which I dont need but it'd be welcome if I did), quite detailed advice on how to behave. Must stay in and only mix with people I already live with. Luckily I have access to a (shared) garden which few people use so I can get out for exercise. Today there's a discussion about how we should get vitamin D, which might help with chest ailments.

That's good, under the lupus criteria I don't think I will qualify as I am not on Azathioprine because I get chronic Neutropenia & liver problems with I do have asthma & mobility problems, under GP prescriptions i qualify for free under housebound, so will have to keep positive and to wait and see.

Currently helping to homeschool nephew maths, english & history are my subjects to teach.
