Diagnosis

Hi I recently visited my rheumatologist for fibromyalgia and while I was with him he noticed my red rash on my cheeks that I’ve literally had years. He sent me off for blood tests to check for lupus, everything come back normal apart from low Igm levels.

Does this mean I’m in the clear?

I do have some lupus symptoms but I’m aware it can mimic other illnesses.

And any idea what low Igm levels mean for me? Anything I should be concerned about

Thank you 😊

Hi Justmesarah- ,

Do you know which blood tests you had to check for lupus? Did they include ANA and anti-DNA antibodies?

If these results were all negative then it makes lupus much less likely although it doesn't necessarily rule it out 100%.

I'm afraid you would need to discuss the low Igm levels with your doctor because we are not medically qualified and cannot interpret results in isolation.
