Covid Vaccine help and advice please 😊

I have had a week of ill health (hellish) following every vaccine but my body seems to accept the Pfizer !! so this time round was hopeful. However there is none to be had . I have been offered the Moderna , has anyone else who has systemic lupus had this one ? And can you tell me how you were ? I just want to be prepared .

I am about to fly on holiday and I have a family get together in June so with Covid still about feel I cannot take the risk and not have it .. so forewarned and all that

Thank in anticipation M ❤️

Hi Maddy, I had Moderna a few weeks ago. Had 2 days of flu-like symptoms and then was fractionally off colour for another week. Definitely worth having in my view. Have a lovely holiday!

Hi

It’s strange how we react differently . Glad you are okay. I had one bad reaction to Pfizer the second was great , weird !

Hi Maddy I was in the same boat as you. I phoned found many pharmacies but none had it. So I called my local ICB (NHS England) and asked them where the NHS has supplied Pfizer chemist and who will have supplies. I had my Pfizer today!

If you are near SW London PM me and I’ll let you know where to go. If not you will have to ask your ICB.

Hi, I've had both vaccines, the most recent was two weeks ago and I had absolutely no issues, didn't even have a sore arm. It was a moderna vaccine 🌹

Hi Carol

That’s worth knowing , sounds like a lottery doesn’t it we all respond differently lol

It certainly is. My first 4 were Pfizer with no real issues but the 5th Pfizer really knocked me off my feet! Hopefully you won't experience any issues 🤞🌹

I am not sure my reply will help as I always react badly to Pfizer with a few days of flu like symptoms following it but am fine with Moderna - I had my Moderna 2 weeks ago and apart from a slightly sore arm had no other side effects.

Hope you are ok after yours and enjoy your holiday and family get together.

Hi Spandau

Thank you I have considered everything and decided to have the vaccine on my return. I am sick of being ill. And don’t want to risk spoiling my time away . Fingers crossed 🤞

Take care M x

Hi, I have only had the Astra zenica (I can’t spell sorry) and I have discoid lupus. Every time I had a jab I got really high temp and vomiting followed by months of flares with rashes etc. so I am not having anymore. I no I keep getting covid but it doesn’t make me as ill as the jabs.

Hope you have a nice holiday. X

Hi M0wnt

Sorry to hear that ,And yes I too have also made the decision no Covid jab at the moment, I am thankful for the vaccine but when I look back most of the vaccines have made me more ill combined than Covid , I will take the hit on my return . Just going to France nowhere very busy

Thank you, take care

Hi, I'm exactly same as you, it's knocked me side ways for 3 month's last time and I'm not prepared to go through it again. I seem to have same reaction to flu jab too, so dont get that either. I'm lucky and only had covid once so will take risk not being vaccinated.Take care,

Jackie xx

Hi Jackpot67

Sorry to hear that, it’s no fun :(

I am going to enjoy my holiday and reassess when I get back . Life is for living , sick of feeling ill and at the moment only middling so even thinking of being ill again is stressful .

Poor you, the flu vaccine as well , I have heard a few people who have problems with it . We have to listen to our bodies ,

Take care

OMG listen to your body. Absolutely do not get the Covid (or any mRNA vaccine). They are finally slowly beginning to acknowledge that Lupus sufferers react very badly to these extremzly inflammatory vaccines. The Moderna was the more inflammatory of the two. These vaccines are also not effective to the continually evolving strains of the Covid virus. Go in your vacation and enjoy seeing your family.

Thank you, that’s how I feel and I will.

It’s bad enough being ill when it’s out of your control but planning to be potentially ill because of something under my control. And I feel I have little control over my health sometimes :(

No not this time.

Saying that I am so thankful to the NHS here in the UK for keeping me safe and even more so the ongoing support of the this group .

Thank you all 🥰

I had Moderna on Monday and was in bed for 3 days with awful flu- like illness. But I’m ok now so I guess if you can have the jab a few days before you are due to go it should be ok. I had Moderna too- it seems to be the current favourite with nhs - Good luck and have a good holiday!

Hi BK47

Sorry to hear you were unwell. I decided to forgo it until my return . I am now only holiday . Ha day 4 and I have had 3 migraines because of the travelling I think . Tbh glad I didn’t have the jab to deal with as well as I am not 100% , but then at best I usually run at 75% haha

Take care
