Totally angry π , p'ssed off, disappointed π₯, frustrated π€, enraged π¬, irate, livid and raving mad π‘ can't think of any more words to describe anger.
Hubby woke me at 09.15 this morning to take a personal phone call...
To my surprise very soon horror π± it was gynae nurse;
I'm very sorry Mrs....... but we have to cancel your operation again.
With that statement I was awake like a singing lark. You must be joking I said, it was only arranged yesterday.
I'm sorry but there have been cut backs across the board.
Yes I know I said but surely not to someone that already has had their op previously cancelled?
There's nothing I can do about it I'm sorry. I'll get you booked back in as soon as I can, but I'd like to know it was a definite slot 1st. It makes it more difficult that you need a consultant anaesthetist. You can make a complaint if you wish.
I don't see what good that'll do.
I'm sorry but it's out of my hands. I'll be in touch, Good bye.
With that the phone went dead.
I must have the worst luck ever. Not that luck should come into this. I feel like crying π’ and screaming out very loud π WHY ME? but neither will do any good.
If anyone knows of a legal way I can get them to stick by yesterday's date please tell me.
I'm losing all sense of hope that this op will happen. π’π’π’

Really feel for you bronn, it's bad enough having the problems and need without this added stress . They should give you another date soon, added problem is this time of year with more emergencies!. HugsXx
So sorry - the NHS is struggling anyway and it is winter. The urgent op my daughter was told last July that she needed by November will now not take place before April - which suggests to me that both lack of beds and money problems lie at the root of it. It is entirely possible that the longer it is delayed, the more likely she is to need a more radical op, possibly even a stoma, and if her renal status continues to deteriorate even dialysis. Which will cost even more.
And I imagine that staff shortages are being compounded by something which will happen on Friday, judging by the proportion of non-UK born staff in the NHS...
Absolutely. Ironically, on election day I got the paperwork confirming I finally am an Italian pensioner. The money is mere cents but it comes with a healthcare card - we have some long waiting lists, a year to see a chest physician but now we have one working on the medical ward in the local hospital. Most patients won't be happy, he doesn't speak German which he should here and Italian isn't much use to us, but his English is very good. That will do for OH who desperately needs one around! And a private consultation for most things is under 100 euros which, if you are desperate, is affordable.
Yes definitely! I hope that I may helped a few. It seems however that I I've needed more help than some lately π but that help has been very significant to my well being. π
I feel you last year I have a hysterectomy surgery and the NHS cancel last minute and they told me I donβt have available bed in the hospital the angry I feel I canβt explain because everything was missed up they gave me another slot after 3 weeks Iβm not afraid for the surgery Iβm afraid if they will cancel again the appointment luckily they didnβt cancel and the surgery was ok .
Sorry for you, its no joke having to put up with it. It seems its likely to be what we'll have to put up with in the future as normal π Many thanks for your reply π
That is shocking news Bronn. I can fully understand your anger and frustration. It is bad enough gearing ourselves up for ops, but then to have them cancelled at such short notice is devastating. π¬ Might be worth speaking to your local MP about your options. π€·ββοΈ I really feel for you! Hugs and best wishes π€π
Oh no! That seems so unfair to have it cancelled twice. Just after you'd got the good news of the new appointment... just seen your other post about the migraine as well. Poor you. I hope today is a better day for you x
Hi Bronn, I work on a ward and see this all the time where patients are prepped, in their gown waiting to go theatre, nil by mouth for hours only to be told they have been cancelled. Iβve known patients cancelled 3 times. It canβt be helped if an emergency comes in and has to go to theatre straight away. Hope you get sorted soon xxx
