I had thought of it as well until I heard it’s a temporary tattoo. I could be wrong, and I hope that someone smarter (which would be anyone and everyone 😆) will chime in here, but, since our AI bodies are on over attack with anything perceived as a foreign invader, I would think that the cuts and the ink would be something that would cause your immune system to go on overdrive. My opinion. Hopefully someone else will answer.
Hi Sarah. There is no issue getting this done. I also have lupus and a couple of years ago I was losing a lot of hair. Fortunately my head hair grew back but my eyebrows remained very sparse. I experienced no problems with the procedure and was very glad I got it done.
Do you have any scarring due to lupus? For example I have some scarring in lungs due to lupus attacks. if you have any scarring due to lupus you shouldn't purposefully injure it. Having said that you know how you feel, if you feel fully under control, it might be a minimal risk in your case. I don't think you will find 100% proper answer as I don't think anyone collected good enough data on that, so you will have to decide for yourself. You might hear from single sources, but that means nothing in the absence of big enough sample size.
It generally isn’t recommended because we are more liable to infection. Aspirin will make you more likely to bleed. However the question about tattoos has also arisen in my APS group and a few people have had them done with no problem.
When I got put on methotrexate and hydroxchloroquine I got blood clots and extreme vertigo. I am not sure which caused what. Now all I take is prednisone for pain management. I have had lupus since 2010.
Hi
I have Lupus 8yrs now and wish to have microblading so called the studio and the brow specialist said she will not recommend to do so 😢. But I am thinking to go ahead and do it as my lupus is under control. I had ear piercing done 4 yrs ago it was all good.
