Today I have my 1st follow up appointment with the Rheumatology department who have confirmed that I do have lupus and will now be referred to a consultant who specialises in Lupus and connective tissue disorders. I have had the usual blood for testing taken but they had added a new one - bioplex CTD screen. Has anyone had this done? "Dr Google" seems to think it to try and identify which type of Lupus I have.

I imagine your diagnosis is both upsetting but maybe a relief if you have been experiencing symptoms for a long time. It sounds like your doctors are taking good care of you and getting you to the appropriate specialist.
It may not be a particular type of lupus the test shows but further clarified things for your doctors. It will tell them how likely certain things like kidney involvement is or whether you have with other connective tissue diseases. These auto-antibodies are diagnostic but can sometimes be a clue about disease activity.
Your rheumatologist will go over your tests and allow you a chance to ask questions.
There are many people here who are very knowledgeable and can answer questions from their experience.
