Sunburns

I was recently diagnosed with lupus and a couple days before I was diagnosed I got a sunburn on my leg. I know that one of the symptoms of lupus is photosensitivity, but it has been a month and part of the sunburn is still there. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

My nose. I use heavy sunscreen but it burns anyway. It will stay red for weeks. I just keep it covered. Tell your doctor.

Sounds familiar. I have ongoing skin inflammation in back of my neck and scalp ( feels exactly like sunburn.) Keeping area moisturized can help. It’s a symptom of SLE and may occur anywhere on the skin.

The same thing happened to me. I got sun burned when I was a teenager (more than 40 years ago) and my skin has been damaged ever since. I don't think there's anything you can do about it I'm afraid but you could ask your Rheumy at your next appointment
